It’s aim was to maintain the natural strength of the material while instilling a sense of fluidity. ‘Rest’ embodies a gentle wave, seamlessly blending the solid foundation of rock with the graceful curves concealed within.

Exploring the interplay of light and shadow, the four-piece towelling collection draws inspiration from the phenomena of ‘umbra’. The collection is realised in a tonal colour palette of Stone, Sand, Rust and Bark. Clean, recurrent lines, in varying weights, form a linear pattern on each towel. A first for BAINA, the UMBRA collection is crafted entirely from cut pile, organic cotton velour, creating a plush texture and velvety surface for enhanced softness. The application of a jacquard technique contrasts raised blocks of terry against the base fabric of each towel. The resulting tonal variants reference the effect of shadow, and 'umbra'.

The Phase Light Collection is an exercise in creating harmony in the contrast between shadow and luminosity.
Drawing inspiration from the lunar phases, this compact Table Light is designed to bring a distinctive shape to the surface it sits upon. The dark bronze or white body is accompanied by a warm LED-lit acrylic diffuser,
enhanced with a subtle linen-textured appearance. Its distinctive form gives the impression of a fraction of the crescent shape, fixed upon a surface and projecting a warm light outward.

Ruban for Pierre Frey

Designed by Estudio Persona, the Ruban line pays homage to this narrow strip of fabric ornamentation as a link between the physical and the emotional. The pieces interact with each other in a continuous dialogue of lines. A single line, with a strong yet subtle presence, outlines the contours of the seats. The movement of the ribbon is transcribed through folding. Entirely upholstered, the pieces impose themselves by their very graphic aesthetic.
